UNIS Vienna promotes the work of the United Nations family based in Vienna through the media, governmental and non-governmental organizations, and public outreach work.

UNIS serves as an information centre for Austria, Hungary, Slovakia and Slovenia, promoting the work of the United Nations as a whole by means of information programmes and activities.

UNIS also offers guided tours and lectures through the Visitors Service.

Laurent Ziegler, artist and human trafficking survivor, thinks it's important to know that survivors often don't come from faraway countries but can experience trafficking here in Austria and Germany. Laurent is a member of the UNODC Voices of Resilience Global Forum for Human Trafficking Survivors that provides an empowering space for survivors to share their perspectives. On World Day Against Trafficking in Persons Laurent wishes people to be mindful and empathetic and actively fight this horrible crime in their communities.
